Aqil Alibhai will race at Zwartkops instead of England this weekend. Image Werner Viet CopyAqil Alibhai has been forced to miss this weekend's British Kartmasters races after the voting day public holiday caused a delay in the processing of his travel visa. Aqil will instead race in the Zwartkops SA Northern Regions round on Saturday.

"We will not be going to UK after all this weekend," Aqil's dad Fayaaz explained. "Our visas expired and we applied for new and were to receive them today, but due to the elections, they can only deliver passports on Thursday, which is too late to fly, so we are staying home, but we will race in the regionals this weekend."

"It's a pity that we are not racing in the UK, but then it is also good to be racing at Zwartkops because we can now prepare for the African Open there two weeks later and I am looking forward to racing against my friends in the Maxterino class again this weekend," Aqil added.

The fifth round of the Northern Regions championship can be expected to deliver fireworks considering several out of town drivers will be at Zwartkops in preparation for the African Open, where race winners will earn a trip to the Rotax Max World Finals in October. The meeting starts with qualifying in the morning followed by a full race program through the day.
