MSA TO GIVE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP STATUS TO MICRO MAX FOR 2018

Dear Micro Max Competitor

The 2018 South African Rotax Max Challenge series is off to a fantastic start with great entries at Regional and National events so far. Close racing and interesting results – not only the usual protagonists are shining!

Motorsport South Africa has kept a close watch on the support for the new Micro Max class last year and thus far in 2018. MSA also noted the disappearance of the Maxterino 60cc class (the championship class that used to cover this age group) in 2018 and MSA has now agreed to upgrade the Micro Max class to National Championship status. There is however an important option to be considered:

The SARMC 2018 series started in February and points have been scored at regional events in all the participating regions and the first National round (at iDube) has been scored as well. Rotax and EMR will thus continue the SARMC Series unchanged and in terms of the published  2018 Sporting regulations and the scoring published on www.kart.co.za.  A 2018 SARMC Champion will be declared and the winner will receive the invitation to the RMCGF in Brazil. We would like this to be the same person that is awarded the MSA SA National Champion title in 2018 – like all the other Rotax classes.

If competitors in Micro Max do not want the events already scored in the SARMC to count towards the 2018 MSA National championship and insist that they would like to start the SA championship from the forthcoming Vereeniging event, then a proposal can be put the MSA Board of Directors. NB: The National Championship will then be scored separately and then will NOT determine the awarding of the invitation to the RMCGF.

We strongly urge you to agree to scoring the National Championship as per the SARMC Series and if we do not hear from you before mid-day on Monday, the 23rd of April 2018 we will assume that you approve of this proposal. Any objections to this should detailed in writing and emailed to jThis email address is being protected from spambots. Happy Maxxing!

Kind regards
