POULTER AND LIEBENBERG TAKE ON THE HOME TOWN BOYS

Round Two of the 2017 South African Rotax Max Challenge Karting Championship lights up the Killarney Karting Circuit in Cape Town on April 29, and the major interest will centre on how the Gauteng favourites shape up against a large contingent of super-dedicated home-town karters.

The Killarney track is a highly technical circuit that needs good low-end power and good balance in high-speed corners. And the local karters in the Rotax series never seem to get tired of practising each and every nuance of the track and the set-up of their karts.

Special Offer to Upgrade your Rotax from Junior Max to Senior Max

Senior Max upgradeRecent changes by the CIK to the age limits affecting Junior Max and Senior Max sees many competitors having to change classes for 2017. In Junior Max the top age is now 15 (you may not turn 16 in 2017). The entry age to Senior Max has now been reduced to 14 years old (must at least turn 14 in 2017) so if you are struggling with weight in Junior Max then changing to Senior Max at 160kg is an attractive option.

Maxterino in 2017

MX60SVarious rumours are circulating including that the Maxter factory has closed and there will be no spare parts, that the Maxterino will be detuned. There is absolutely no truth in any of these rumours and Maxterino engines and spares continue to be produced - business as usual! The regulations for the 2017 Maxterino National championship are exactly the same as they were in 2016 technically and weight wise. The only change is the top age which has been reduced to 11 years old. We look forward to great racing with kids of more similar ages in 2017. The winner of the Maxterino National Championship will be SA Champion and receive an air ticket to spectate at the 2017 RMCGF in Protugal.
