2024 ROTAX WINTER TROPHY LOCATIONS CONFIRMED
Gunskirchen, Austria, September 13th, 2023 – With a new season of racing on the horizon, RTX Karting Group is pleased to confirm the locations for the Rotax MAX Challenge (RMC) Winter Trophy. Taking place at the Orlando Kart Center (OKC), teams and competitors will take advantage of two different layouts and track directions, all while competing in back-to-back race weekends.
“We are excited and honored to have a pair of events at OKC, a format that will allow teams and competitors to save money while racing at the same location on back-to-back weekends and fight for the first RMC Grand Finals tickets available in North America in 2024,” explained Julieta Fernandez. “We look forward to seeing the Rotax Racing family in what is anticipated to be the biggest Winter Trophy program to date.”
Confirmed for January 26 – 28 and again February 2 – 4, January’s event will take place on the standard Orlando Kart Center layout in the clockwise direction, while February’s event will see a change in direction as competitors will compete in a counterclockwise direction as champions will be crowned and Grand Finals tickets will be awarded.
Alex Wandl, Sales representative BRP-Rotax Kart Business adds, “I am excited to see the US Rotax racing season kick-off at OKC, marking the first chance to win tickets to the Rotax Grand Finals 2024. With the current growth of the Rotax program and extended opportunities to race in the United States, there is a lot to be excited about in the 2024 season!”
Joining the RMC Winter Trophy on the officiating side will be Gonzalo Duarte who has been the official Rotax scrutineer since 2017. Working at Korridas, the Rotax authorized distributor for Portugal and Spain, Duarte is also the Chief Scrutineer in both of those championships as well as at the CEZ Championship. With a long resume, Duarte has been the man in charge of Scrutineering at the RMC or Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals since 2017, as well as the RMC or Rotax MAX Challenge International Trophy in 2020, 2021, and 2022, the 2022 RMC Asia Festival, the IRMC South America in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and the 2023 Saudi Arabia Games.
Also making the trip to the Winter Trophy will be Race Director Manuel Branco. Involved in karting from 2001 to 2011 as a driver, Branco switched to the officiating role where he has more than ten years’ worth of experience. In 2023 alone, Branco was the Race Director at the RMC International Trophy, the international South American Finals, Sodi World and Continental Finals, the 30 Hours of Spain, the 24 Hours of Le Mans (Karting), RMC France, and several FFSA programs.
With dates and locations confirmed, a complete Prize Package will be communicated in the coming weeks.
Fernandez added, “Competitors can expect to be racing for Grand Finals tickets, but we are also working on additional prizes from additional partners.”
