WACKERSDORF DELIVERS: A FULL WEEK OF RACING AT ROUND 2 OF THE RMC EURO TROPHY

Gunskirchen, Austria, May 06, 2026 – The second round of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy unfolded at the Prokart Raceland Wackersdorf with 208 verified drivers across all five categories, once again confirming the strong appeal of the series. The Senior MAX category stood out as the largest, with 90 drivers, underlining its position as the benchmark class of the championship

With competitors representing over 35 nations, the event further reinforced its international and increasingly intercontinental profile. Unlike the season opener in Cremona, warm and sunny weather conditions remained stable throughout the weekend, allowing teams and drivers to work with consistent track conditions and ensuring that performance gaps were defined purely by pace and execution on track.

FRIDAY – QUALIFYING AND OPENING HEATS SET THE PACE

Friday marked the first full competitive day, with eight qualifying sessions followed by 12 heats that opened the second phase of the weekend.

Several outsiders immediately made their mark. Martin Soltys (KRK Racing) secured pole in Junior MAX, while Jeremy Reuvers (Karting Club Campillos) confirmed himself as the reference in Senior MAX. Joshua Cooke (KR Sport) topped Mini MAX, with Ragnar Veerus (Lenktyniu Linija) and Nicolas Picot (Privateer) leading DD2 and DD2 Masters, respectively.

In Senior MAX, Reuvers set the tone early with the fastest lap in Group 1, securing overall pole with a 49.671. Behind him, Titouan Lescalie (Strawberry Racing) and Tom Langlois (Sodikart) couldn’t match the pace. The first heats reinforced the hierarchy: Reuvers took two wins, matched by Freddie Lloyd and Tereza Babickova, both for Dan Holland Racing.

Junior MAX saw a split picture between groups. Luan Seidl (KR Sport) was quickest in Group 1, with Babicek and Harry Taylor (Dan Holland Racing) setting identical times behind him. Group 2 proved faster overall, with Soltys beating Majus Mazinas (KR Sport) for pole. In the heats, Zdenek Babicek kept momentum high, with a win alongside teammate Rares Pascu.

In Mini MAX, Cooke secured pole ahead of Mik Klinkers (Bouvin Power), while James Roots (Dan Holland Racing) missed out on overall pole despite the best time in Group 2. The opening heats were shared between Cooke and Klinkers, confirming a tight fight at the front.

In DD2, Veerus took pole ahead of Leon Mandl (Birelart by KSB Racing) and Jakub Bezel (Kraft Motorsport, while Picot remained untouchable in Masters. Heat wins in DD2 were split between Veerus and Bezel, while in Masters, victories went to Picot and Mirco Gervasoni (MB Motorsport).

SATURDAY – HEATS DEFINE THE FINAL GRIDS

Saturday was entirely focused on the remaining heats, with 21 races shaping the starting order for Sunday.

In Mini MAX, Cooke confirmed his control with a perfect 3-from-3 score, maintaining the lead in the standings. Behind him, Roots and Klinkers remained in close contention, keeping the category open heading into Finals.

In Junior MAX, Zdenek Babicek took over the lead with a clean sweep, despite strong resistance from Soltys. Rares Pascu climbed to third overall, while Lucien Smith (KR Sport) delivered one of the standout recoveries, moving from 30th after qualifying to 10th.

In Senior MAX, Reuvers continued his dominant run, completing a clean sweep in the heats. Despite that, Tereza Babickova secured pole for Prefinal B after finishing second overall, ahead of Tom Langlois and Tino Sidler.

In DD2, Jakub Bezel took control of the standings with three heat wins, moving ahead of Veerus and Patryk Donica. A retirement in the final heat dropped Mandl from second in qualifying to tenth. In DD2 Masters, Picot remained the clear reference.

SUNDAY – FINALS DECIDE THE WINNERS

Sunday’s Finals brought the weekend to a close, delivering decisive results across all categories.

In Mini MAX, Joshua Cooke completed the job, securing his second consecutive Euro Cup win after Cremona and adding the German title to his season. Mik Klinkers finished second and claimed the RMC Grand Finals ticket for this round, while Sebastian Bearman recovered to third.

In Junior MAX, Zdenek Babicek confirmed his form, converting his Prefinal win into victory in the Final. He was joined on the podium by Soltys and Lucien Smith. Notable drives came from Luca Holmes-Balac (Strawberry Racing), who climbed from 20th to fifth, and Erin Unludogan (Dan Holland Racing), gaining 23 positions to finish eighth.

The Senior MAX Final delivered the most drama. Reuvers lost the lead early to Babickova, who controlled the race before pressure from Reuvers opened the door for Lewis Gilbert, who crossed the line first. A post-race bumper penalty, however, reshuffled the result, handing victory to Reuvers. Babickova was classified second, with Langlois third. The two now leave Wackersdorf tied at the top of the championship.

In DD2, Jakub Bezel dominated from pole to take victory and reclaim the championship lead. Edgars Vilcans finished second, while Nicolas Picot once again secured the win in DD2 Masters, extending his perfect run.

NEXT STOP: GENK

The Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy now moves to Karting Genk: The Home of Champions for Round 3, scheduled for the weekend of June 28, where the fight for the 2026 titles continues.
