SCANDINAVIA CHALLENGES THE WORLD TO RACE

DENMARK HOSTS THE FIRST RMC VIKING TROPHY IN 2026

Gunskirchen, Austria, February 14th, 2026 – BRP-Rotax is pleased to announce the introduction of a brand new event on the Rotax racing calendar in the Nordic region – the RMC Viking Trophy. Denmark’s Vojens Motorsport Arena is rekindling the spirit of Scandinavian competition, inviting their neighbouring nations to take up the challenge against an international driver line-up from April 1-5. Prizes will include entry to the Rotax MAX Challenge International Trophy Europe at Le Mans in July.

The RMC Viking Trophy is the latest championship to hit the track this season as a real gateway to the highest level of Rotax competition. Scandinavian drivers have the chance to broaden their own experience racing within an international field, competing for the first Rotax Viking’s title. Denmark and the Nordic nations continue to produce many top motorsport competitors in various disciplines who have begun their career in karting. The RMC Viking Trophy will continue to fulfil this tradition, although now even more so, by opening the entries to welcome drivers from any country to race.

Six Rotax categories combine to make up the program at the RMC Viking Trophy: Micro MAX, Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX, DD2 and DD2 Masters. The winners in each of these classes will secure their place on the grid at the prestigious RMC International Trophy Europe in Le Mans, France, from July 14-18, 2026. The biggest RMCIT event guarantees a star-studded entry list plus RMC Grand Finals tickets to the season highlight at Algarve, Portugal in November will be awarded.

The schedule for the RMC Viking Trophy at the popular Danish Vojens Motorsport Arena consists of practice sessions on April 1 & 2, then the official race days Friday to Sunday, April 3 to 5. Supporting partners of the event include the national federation DASU, VKK the local Vojens Karting Klub, Go-Kart Danmark as the Authorized Rotax Kart Distributor, along with the wider Nordic Rotax network.

“The launch of the RMC Viking Trophy comes from our goal to unite the Scandinavian countries at one special karting event which promotes fair competition with strong international grids and the true spirit of Rotax racing,” explains Vojens’ track owner Robert Schluenssen. “Our circuit offers the ideal venue in Denmark, centrally located just 80km from the German border with all the desired facilities to host such an historic event. At 1,400 metres, Vojens is renowned for being a favourite amongst drivers, with a layout that provides for great racing. We have taken a more sustainable approach in line with the Scandinavian culture, operating almost independently with our ‘green energy’ initiative.”

“We are proud to welcome the RMC Viking Trophy to Vojens, Denmark,” says Mr. Ture Hansen, Secretary General of the Danish ASN (DASU). “This new Scandinavian initiative strengthens the Nordic karting community and gives drivers a great arena to compete, learn, and develop. DASU appreciates BRP-Rotax’s commitment to the sport, and we see the event as a valuable step in sup-porting Vojens and our long-term ambition to bring the circuit onto the FIA Karting calendar. We look forward to greeting participants from across Scandinavia for a great celebration of karting.”
