FOLLOWING INTERNATIONAL REGULATIONS

In the quest to maintain 100% parity, we will follow the international regulations closely in 2026.

Below is a summary of some important changes and class-specific updates for the new season, but
please be sure to check the full regulations – here – in conjunction with the supplementary regulations.

BAMBINO

No changes for 2026.

MICRO / MINI MAX

EXHAUST

To ensure absolute parity, 10 Micro/Mini Max exhausts will be allocated by drawing numbers out of a hat in Parc Fermé.
Drivers will collect the exhaust matching their drawn number before relevant sessions and return them after each
session for random reallocation. There is also an endoscope and a jig to quickly check the dimensions of the exhausts
used by competitors who did not receive an organisers exhaust.

EXHAUST RESTRICTOR

Note: It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure compliance with these measurements!

  • 125 Micro MAX: 18.20 mm (Rotax part no. 273 192)
  • 125 Mini MAX: 22.10 mm (Rotax part no. 273 196)
GEAR OIL

There must always be at least 50ml of gear oil in the engine so officials can take a sample at any time.
When officials take a sample, the oil must be able to drain out through the correct port within 1 minute.

GEARING

Only ROTAX-marked sprockets with a 219 pitch are permitted and half-tooth sprockets are strictly prohibited.
Scrutineers may use an original ROTAX sprocket of the specified sizes as a template to confirm compliance with these
regulations. The approved sprocket sizes are:

  • 125 Micro MAX: 14 (engine) / 75 (rear axle)
  • 125 Mini MAX: 13 (engine) / 80 (rear axle)

JUNIOR MAX

GEAR OIL

There must always be at least 50ml of gear oil in the engine so officials can take a sample at any time. When officials
take a sample, the oil must be able to drain out through the correct port within 1 minute.

SENIOR MAX

GEAR OIL

There must always be at least 50ml of gear oil in the engine so officials can take a sample at any time. When officials
take a sample, the oil must be able to drain out through the correct port within 1 minute.

DD2 & DD2 MASTERS

GEAR OIL

There must always be at least 100ml of gear oil in the engine so officials can take a sample at any time. When officials
take a sample, the oil must be able to drain out through the correct port within 1 minute.

XPS CASTOR RACING OIL 2T

From our experience in 2025, XPS Castor Racing Oil 2T delivers optimal performance and excellent reliability. As with all
castor oils, carbon build-up can occur over time, so we recommend checking your squish before the start of each event.

SPORTING UPDATES FOR 2026

ONBOARD FOOTAGE

To promote fair and sporting conduct, onboard camera systems are strongly encouraged and will become compulsory in the
near future. Competitors may submit onboard footage to report incidents via the official incident portal. Submitting
footage does not constitute a protest. If a competitor believes their incident needs to be fully investigated, they must
submit a formal protest or appeal in accordance with the GCRs and within the required time limits.

PRACTICE BAN – CIRCUIT CLOSURE FOR NATIONAL EVENTS

We are pleased that the FIA also recognises the need to shorten practice, especially to reduce time away from school. The
FIA now only counts National events on the National Karting Ranking that run for a maximum of three days, supporting a
move toward shorter, fairer weekends globally.

REGISTERED ENGINES & TECHNICAL CHECKS

We introduced a page on our website last year so anyone can verify cylinders and engines are legal for racing in South
Africa. Use this quick check:
https://kart.co.za/tech-check/

If any issues arise, send a clear photo of the engine or cylinder serial number to:
support@kart.co.za

REGISTER YOUR ENGINES

Register your engine on the Rotax website:
https://www.rotax-racing.com/engine-registration
Registration links your engine to warranty services, proof of ownership, recall alerts and bonus campaigns. Warranty
coverage protects your engine and your wallet.

SARMC POINT SCORING UNCHANGED FROM 2025

The SARMC point-scoring system remains the same as 2025, rewarding performance, consistency and regional participation.
